About the event

Gaga/people class (1hr)

30/25 chf

Gaga/people classes offer a framework for users to connect to their bodies and imaginations, experience physical sensations, improve their flexibility and stamina, exercise their agility and explosive power, and enjoy the pleasure of movement in a welcoming, accepting atmosphere.

Throughout the class, participants are guided by a series of evocative instructions deployed to increase awareness of and further amplify sensation. Rather than turning from one prompt to another, information is layered, building into a multisensory, physically challenging experience. While many instructions are imbued with rich imagery, the research of Gaga is fundamentally physical, insisting on a specific process of embodiment. Inside this shared research, the improvisational nature of the exploration enables each participant’s deeply personal connection with Gaga.

Everybody aged 16+ is welcome. No prior dance experience necessary. We move in comfortable clothes, barefeet or with socks.

Dance Jam (1hr)

15/10 chf

The Dance Jam is a playful space to explore your dancing, alone and in dialogue with the group and music following the Gaga/people class.

We will begin with a brief warm up to tune into our senses and gain awareness of the shared space while understanding the use of touch and embodied consent.

The DJ/guide will then guide the collective awareness to create a field of possibility, of heightened consciousness, through scores that allow us to play with specific themes of texture, space, musicality etc. In this experimental improvisation, we become both the performer and the composer.

To give space to freedom, we claim responsibility for our own bodies and nurture our relationship to the shared space.
