Tanzhaus Zürich, Wasserwerkstrasse 127a, 8037 Zürich, Switzerland
About the event
Pilates is a mind-body practice that builds strength, stability, and range of motion while improving focus and mood. For dancers, it is a valuable way to support technique and keep the body balanced and resilient.
This mat class uses resistance bands and focuses on what dancers most need: exercises chosen to address the physical demands of dance and the imbalances that often come with it. Together we work on:
Core strength and stability
Spinal mobility and upper back extension
Turnout and alignment
Leg extensions and arabesques
Foot and ankle stability, including pointing the foot
Carriage of the arms and support through the upper body
You can use the class as a thorough warm-up before the Tanzhaus profitraining, or as a standalone conditioning session. The goal is to help you move with more strength and ease, and to reduce your risk of injury.
Who it's for: Dance professionals and students of all levels. No Pilates experience needed.
What to bring: Comfortable clothing you can move in. Bands are provided.
Where we meet: Studio 1 at Tanzhaus Zurich (enter via nude café)
Please register before the start of class.
